Binge Eating

I have to add some cooked foods to yesterday's list. A veggie bologna and miso mayo sandwich, an organic poptart, and some non-dairy chedder crackers. Yes, I binged. Binging is a problem I've had for awhile now. I wasn't even hungry when I binged. I felt physically sated, but not emotionally, if that makes sense. This is going to be an ongoing battle, but I promise to be honest about my binging because that's the first step towards getting a healthy relationship with food.

I took my daughter to the playground today. I think I need to get some sand toys so she can dig and play with the other kids. I love seeing her socialize; she's getting so big!

Today's Food:
  • Bananas(R) with almond butter(R)
  • Lydia's organic cereal(R)
  • Baby carrots(R)
  • Larabar(R)
  • Dried bing cherries(R)
  • Crimini mushrooms(R)
  • Green bell pepper(R)
  • Walnuts(R)
  • Mandarins(R)
  • Mixed greens salad(R) with cucumber(R), yellow bell pepper(R), sunflower sprouts(R), pistachios(R), Olive oil(R)(L), and balsamic vinegar
  • Avocado(R)
  • Hawaiian tea
I feel more full today. The breakfast of bananas, almond butter, and raw cereal was very filling and the avocado I had a few hours ago is still sticking with me. Today was a better day raw food wise.

I'm starting on a new journey

I've been vegan for awhile now, but this year, I want to strive to eat raw and to eat locally. This month, my primary goal is to eat at least 95% raw and to eat local when I can. I hope to increase the amount of local food by May when the season really kicks off around here.

This blog is mostly for me to keep track of my progress, but you are more than welcome to share comments. I will be listing my food and labeling it with an (R) for raw and an (L) for local.

So what do I hope to gain from all of this? Lately, I feel like I've lost my path, like I've lost my sense of purpose. This year, I hope to regain what I've lost and to discover new things about me. I plan on exploring my faith, honoring my womanhood, and taking care of my body. So that's what this blog is about. Not just diet, but my whole essence.

What I've eaten today:
  • Grapes(R)
  • Cucumber(R)
  • Lydia's Organics Cereal(R)
  • Larabars(R)
  • Bananas(R)
  • Crimini mushrooms(R)
  • Spinach(R) with olive oil(R)(L) and balsamic vinegar
  • Walnuts(R)
  • Raisins(R)
  • Strawberry Smoothie(R)
After all of this, I feel kinda of sick. Could detox start working this fast? This morning I felt energetic and ready to go, but now I feel gross and decided to skip the gym. I'm still hungry(craving toaster pastries and sandwiches) but I can't think of any raw foods in the house I'd care to eat. I feel like throwing up at the thought of more food. Maybe I'll just have water and call it a night. The urge to eat cooked food is huge right now. I hate having this type of craving.
